WOODSTOCK OXFORDSHIRE

Aerial photographs by R D W Norton

The county town of Woodstock is just to the North of the university City of Oxford, Many day tours depart from London for Oxford & Shakespeare's Stratford upon Avon stopping off en route at Woodstock & nearby Blenhiem Palace, birthplace of Winston Churchill and now home to the Duke of Marlborough,

Woodstock is a historic town, well over one thousand years old with many fine buildings. For instance Chaucer's House & Cottage & Cromwell's House. It is also a living town with a busy local business community, with excellent facilities for visitors including many fine hotels, guest houses, bed and breakfast (B&B), pubs & restaurants offering a wide selection of food and drink, genuine traditional English tea rooms too.

Woodstock is a very safe place to enjoy at any time of the day or night, West Oxfordshire prides itself in being one of the safest and top places to live in according to recent surveys on the quality of life within the United Kingdom.

Many more details can be found on the dedicated and most comprehensive Woodstock website linked below, NOT a place to be missed, pay us a visit, links also the nearby villages of Kirtlington and Tackley as well as the World Heritage site of Blenheim Palace:-
